2 arrested after drug bust in Somerset
Two individuals were arrested following a drug bust in Somerset on Thursday, according to Fall River police. The arrests were made after an investigation revealed a drug operation was being conducted out of a camper located at 147 Luther Avenue.
Authorities provided information indicating that 34-year-old Derek Jones and 31-year-old Monica Thibault were allegedly involved in selling methamphetamine and other drugs to residents in Fall River and Somerset. Acting on this intelligence, Somerset and Fall River police executed a search warrant on the camper.
During the search, law enforcement discovered both suspects inside the camper along with 114 grams of methamphetamine, digital scales, and packaging materials. Notably, Jones was found hiding in a storage area beneath the camper's bed during the operation.
Both suspects now face serious charges related to their drug activities. Jones is charged with trafficking over 100 grams of meth, possession of Class B drugs, and has other outstanding warrants. Thibault is similarly charged with trafficking over 100 grams of meth and possession of Class B drugs.
The arrests underscore the ongoing efforts of local law enforcement to combat drug-related offenses in the area, targeting operations that pose significant risks to community safety.
