PARMA HEIGHTS, Ohio -- A juvenile was hospitalized following a late-night pursuit involving an allegedly stolen vehicle, according to the Parma Heights Police Department. The incident began around 10:58 p.m. when authorities received reports of a black Infiniti entering Parma Heights at the intersection of Pearl Road and West 130th Street.

In response, officers from the Parma Heights Police Department, along with personnel from the Parma Police Department and Cleveland Division of Police, conducted a "high-risk" stop. Officers were positioned strategically to deploy Stop Sticks if necessary to prevent the vehicle from fleeing.

Initially, the vehicle stopped, and a female passenger exited without incident. However, while officers continued to issue commands, a male passenger allegedly took the driver's seat and sped away from the traffic stop, prompting a pursuit by the police.

The chase continued until officers successfully deployed Stop Sticks, deflating the vehicle's tires. The Infiniti ultimately crashed into a pole in Middleburg Heights, with no other vehicles involved in the incident.

Subsequently, a juvenile admitted to driving the car during the incident and was taken to a hospital for injuries sustained in the crash. The case is set to be reviewed by the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor's Office for possible charges in Cuyahoga County Juvenile Court.
