Judge revokes Arkansas inmate's phone privileges after calls targeting victim in rape case

BENTONVILLE, Ark. (KHBS) -- A prosecutor in Benton County has revealed that David Brian Robinson, a 21-year-old inmate accused of raping a 15-year-old girl, attempted to report her to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Robinson was arrested in March 2023 and had initially met the girl online in October 2022, falsely claiming to be 16.
Robinson faced prior legal troubles, having been arrested in November 2022 on separate rape charges. After being released on a $250,000 bond in January 2023, he was prohibited from contacting minors. However, he reached out to the girl again in January 2023, leading to a February encounter where she reported that he raped her.
While incarcerated, he was hit with an additional rape charge. In March 2025, Robinson allegedly made three phone calls where he shared the victim's personal information with others, attempting to orchestrate her removal from the country by reporting her to ICE.
Benton County deputy prosecuting attorney Joshua Robinson emphasized that this behavior appeared to be an effort to intimidate and obstruct the victim, making her unavailable for trial. In response, the prosecutor sought to revoke Robinson's communication privileges.
The judge agreed to this request, and Robinson's attorney subsequently withdrew from the case. His trial is set to take place on May 13, 2025.
