State police, Brockton police investigating fatal shooting | ABC6

BROCKTON, Mass. (WLNE) -- Authorities are investigating a fatal shooting in Brockton that took place early Friday morning, as confirmed by Massachusetts State Police and local law enforcement. The shooting occurred around 3:31 a.m. on Lenox Street, prompting a response from Brockton police following reports of gunshots.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene after receiving a 911 call from a resident who reported hearing gunfire and saw a person lying on the sidewalk. Upon arrival, police and medical personnel found the male victim, who was subsequently transported to Good Samaritan Hospital.
Despite efforts to save him, the victim was pronounced dead at the hospital. As of now, the police have not released the victim's identity while they continue their investigation.
Preliminary findings indicate that the shooting may not have been random, suggesting a targeted nature to the incident. Investigators are actively pursuing leads to determine the circumstances surrounding the case.
