COLUMBUS, Ohio - Body camera footage recently released by the Columbus Division of Police captures a SWAT officer shooting a Toledo man, who was under surveillance for the murder of his 13-year-old daughter. The man's identification came from the Toledo Police Department, which reported he was the last person seen with the girl, whose body was discovered with neck wounds in an abandoned house in Toledo.

In the video, the suspect is seen walking with his right hand concealed in his sweatshirt and a walkie-talkie in his left. As the officer approaches with his firearm drawn, he commands the suspect to stop and reveal his hands. However, the man defies these orders, repeatedly stating, "Just kill me," while his right hand remains hidden, leading the officer to suspect he may be reaching for a weapon.

When the suspect begins to draw what is later identified as a revolver, the officer reacts by firing multiple shots, hitting the man. Following the shooting, additional SWAT officers arrived to secure the area. On the ground, the suspect expresses a desire to live, telling officers, "I don't want to die, bro." Meanwhile, officers provided immediate aid and maintained his upright position until medical personnel arrived.

The suspect was subsequently taken to a hospital, where he was reported to be in stable condition. Police recovered the revolver and walkie-talkie from the scene, with no injuries reported among the officers involved. In addition to the murder charges in Toledo, the man now faces felonious assault charges in Franklin County for attempting to draw his weapon on the officer.

The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation is conducting a review of the officer-involved shooting, which is standard procedure in such incidents according to city policy.
