Moscow police arrest Kentucky fugitive wanted for manslaughter

MOSCOW, Idaho -- The Moscow Police Department has arrested Aaron S. Hypes, a fugitive wanted in Butler County, Kentucky, on serious charges including manslaughter and trafficking fentanyl. The arrest occurred on March 27, following communication from Kentucky law enforcement, who indicated that Hypes might be in the local area.
Due to the high-risk nature of the arrest, authorities deployed the Latah County Regional SWAT Team, which includes officers from both the Moscow Police Department and the Latah County Sheriff's Office. This careful preparation ensured the safety of the operation.
Hypes was located on the 1100 Block of N. Polk Street Extension, where he was taken into custody without any incidents. He was then transported to the Latah County Jail for processing.
