Man killed in early-morning Brockton shooting - Boston News, Weather, Sports | WHDH 7News

A man was fatally shot in Brockton, Massachusetts, early Friday morning, according to the Plymouth County District Attorney's office. The incident occurred around 3:31 a.m., following reports of a suspicious individual attempting to open car doors on Monson Street. Concurrently, police received 911 calls about gunfire on nearby Lenox Street.

Upon arrival, officers discovered a man lying face-down on the sidewalk with a gunshot wound. Emergency medical teams transported him to Good Samaritan Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. The victim has not yet been publicly identified.

Authorities are currently investigating the shooting, although they believe it is not a random act of violence. The DA's office is working to determine the circumstances surrounding the case.
