Teen shot during carjacking in Shelby Park, LMPD investigating

A teenager in Louisville was shot during a carjacking incident on Friday in the Shelby Park neighborhood. The Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD) Fourth Division responded to the scene at South Clay and East Ormsby around 12:30 p.m.
Upon arrival, officers discovered that the young victim had sustained a gunshot wound to the hand during the carjacking. The police quickly initiated their investigation and were able to locate the teenager's stolen vehicle shortly thereafter.
The car was found abandoned near the intersection of Lee Street and McCloskey Avenue, located in the Algonquin neighborhood. The teen was promptly transported to the University of Louisville Hospital for medical treatment and is anticipated to recover from his injuries.
