A 17-year-old male was apprehended following a tense incident at a residence in Clovis, New Mexico, late Thursday night. Police received a call around 11:37 p.m. regarding a subject armed with a weapon at 717 Axtell Street. Upon arrival, officers spoke with a 17-year-old girl, who reported that her ex-boyfriend had entered her home without permission and initiated a confrontation.

According to the victim, the altercation involved her ex-boyfriend warning her not to have another male around their child while he reached for a gun concealed in his waistband. In a disturbing turn of events, he drew the weapon and allegedly threatened her life despite her pleas, escalating the situation into physical violence.

The confrontation intensified until the victim's mother intervened, demanding that he leave and threatening to alert the authorities. In response, the ex-boyfriend reportedly threatened to shoot at police if they were called. As he exited the home, a single gunshot was heard, prompting immediate concern from the occupants.

After the incident, officers were unable to locate the suspect initially, leading them to secure an emergency arrest warrant through the 9th Judicial District Court. The juvenile male was eventually arrested and taken to a detention facility in Farmington, New Mexico, where he faces multiple serious charges, including aggravated burglary and assault.

Authorities are now seeking additional information from the public and encourage anyone with knowledge of the incident to reach out to the Clovis Police Department or submit an anonymous report.
