Man arrested in Cherokee County for sexual assault of a minor - WDEF

A Cherokee County man has been arrested and charged with sexual assault of a minor. The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office (CCSO) began their investigation on January 30, 2024, after receiving a report from a social worker about the alleged sexual assault of a 12-year-old victim.

Following the report, CCSO initiated an immediate investigation, which included conducting interviews, executing a search warrant at the suspect's residence, and seizing multiple electronic devices related to the case.

As the investigation progressed, a grand jury indicted Steve Nolan on March 17, 2025. Subsequently, he was arrested on March 21 and transported to the Cherokee County Detention Center.

Nolan's bail has been set at $125,000. He faces serious charges, including five counts of indecent liberties with a child and one count of statutory sex offense.

The case continues to develop as authorities work to ensure justice for the victim.
