Two men from Gulfport, Mississippi, have been arrested on serious felony drug distribution charges. Dwan Parnell, 38, faces federal allegations related to drug and firearms violations, while 34-year-old Deante Hinton is charged at the state level with trafficking in controlled substances, which includes cocaine, crack cocaine, and marijuana.

The arrests occurred following an attempted traffic stop on March 27 conducted by the Harrison County Narcotics Task Force. Officers attempted to stop a vehicle on Pass Road in Biloxi, but Parnell attempted to flee on foot before being apprehended. A search of his vehicle revealed cocaine.

Subsequent investigations led officers to search two residences and a hotel room, uncovering additional drugs and multiple firearms. Hinton was arrested during the search of one of the homes, where authorities found him in possession of cash, crack cocaine, cocaine, and marijuana.

In total, law enforcement seized over 10 ounces of cocaine, 70 grams of crack cocaine, three pounds of marijuana, two handguns, a rifle, and more than $4,000 in cash linked to drug operations.

Both men have been transported to the Harrison County Jail, with Hinton held on a $150,000 bond and Parnell detained without bond.
