Indecent exposure near high school in Cecil County

CHESAPEAKE CITY, Md. -- A group of female cross country runners from Bohemia Manor High School encountered a troubling situation while training on Thursday. As they ran on nearby roads, they noticed a suspicious vehicle following them, which subsequently stopped when approached. Lieutenant Mike Zack of the Cecil County Sheriff's Office reported that upon making contact with the driver, one of the runners observed he was masturbating in his vehicle before he sped off.
One of the athletes, being particularly vigilant, recorded the incident, capturing the vehicle's registration plate and providing a detailed description of the driver. This proactive response may prove crucial in aiding law enforcement as they investigate the matter. Police believe they have a solid lead on the suspect and are currently looking for the vehicle involved.
Since the unsettling event, residents in the vicinity have become increasingly cautious, ensuring their doors are locked and remaining alert to their surroundings. The community is understandably concerned, as such behavior from an individual could potentially escalate if not addressed.
Local resident Frank Monturano voiced his worries about the safety of young girls, noting that several team members from the high school are part of his family. He expressed hope that law enforcement would apprehend the suspect before a concerned parent takes matters into their own hands.
Authorities urge anyone with information about a Nissan Altima with Georgia registration SGL5013 to contact 911, emphasizing the urgency of the situation to ensure the safety of the community's children.
