Operation Azalea Trail: Mobile Police arrest 18 in illegal drug operation

MOBILE, Ala. (WPMI) -- The Mobile Police Department recently wrapped up a three-month operation aimed at combating the sale of illegal drugs in the Azalea Road corridor. On March 27, 2025, the Narcotics and Vice Unit, along with the Canine Detail, conducted the operation in response to community complaints.
During the operation, law enforcement seized a substantial amount of illegal substances, including 1750 grams of marijuana, over 10 grams of cocaine, and 370 grams of synthetic marijuana. Authorities also confiscated 17 grams of psilocybin, $6,673 in cash, and 10 firearms, highlighting the serious nature of the drug-related activities in the area.
Numerous arrests were made, resulting in multiple charges specified under unlawful distribution and possession of controlled substances. The charges included unlawful possession with intent to distribute marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, with several warrants issued related to these offenses.
The extensive operation underscores the police department's commitment to addressing drug-related issues and maintaining safety in the community. By responding to citizen complaints and conducting thorough investigations, the Mobile Police aim to deter future illegal activities.
