Wilmington man arrested on child sex abuse charges

WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) - A Wilmington man, Jacob Bradley Newman, was arrested by the New Hanover County Sheriff's Office (NHCSO) in collaboration with the North Carolina SBI on sex-related charges. His arrest followed the execution of a search warrant on Thursday.
NHCSO Lieutenant Brewer reported that law enforcement discovered a significant quantity of child sex abuse materials during the search. The charges against Newman stem from offenses that occurred on March 1.
Newman now faces multiple charges, including three counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor and three counts of third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor.
The case highlights ongoing efforts by law enforcement agencies to combat child exploitation and ensure the safety of minors in the community.
