Mississippi man wanted for allegedly stealing mail, cashing checks in Livingston Parish
Deputies are actively searching for Jonathan Wesley Robertson, a Mississippi man accused of stealing mail and cashing thousands in checks at local banks in Walker, Louisiana. The Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office (LPSO) is leading the investigation, which has revealed that Robertson allegedly washed checks and cashed approximately $18,000 during his operation.
The LPSO's Financial Crimes Unit initiated the investigation after receiving multiple complaints of mail theft in the area. Detectives uncovered that Robertson was active in Livingston Parish between February 11 and March 7, linking him to the fraudulent activities tied to the stolen mail.
As the investigation progressed, evidence indicated that the checks cashes were directly associated with the thefts, confirming Robertson's role in the fraudulent scheme.
Authorities believe that Robertson may currently be in the metro Baton Rouge area.
