Woman arrested for DUI and crashing into neighbor's garage, causing estimated $30,000 in damage

A North Ogden woman, Sheila Frandsen, 53, is in custody after allegedly driving under the influence and crashing into her neighbor's garage, resulting in an estimated $30,000 in damages. The incident occurred around 6 p.m. on a Tuesday, following reports from her brother and boyfriend who claimed she was driving while intoxicated.
Officers from the North Ogden Police Department initiated a search for Frandsen, who was supposedly driving a black Honda Accord with a flat tire. Despite their efforts near her residence, they were unable to locate her at first. However, a neighbor soon informed Officer Riley Blackham that a vehicle had crashed into his garage and pointed out a damaged dark sedan parked behind Frandsen's home.
Upon inspecting the car, which was indeed identified as Frandsen's Honda Accord by its VIN, Officer Blackham noted damage consistent with the neighbor's garage. A contractor estimated the repair costs to be around $30,000. After receiving no response when knocking on Frandsen's front and back doors, Blackham obtained a warrant to search the home.
Frandsen was found in her bedroom with a half-empty bottle of vodka and a prescription bottle of Xanax without a patient’s name on it. During questioning, she admitted to consuming alcohol and Xanax before the crash. Despite the evidence, she refused to provide a blood sample for the DUI investigation.
Frandsen now faces multiple charges, including property damage, DUI, and possession of a controlled substance, among others. The incident highlights the dangers of impaired driving and the significant consequences that can stem from such behavior.
