Two people arrested in connection to vandalism at CMU

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - Two individuals were arrested in relation to vandalism incidents at Colorado Mesa University. Elizabeth Natsu and Jesse Mason, both 24 years old, were taken into custody on March 27 and booked into the Mesa County Detention Facility for felony Criminal Mischief.
The Grand Junction Police Department received multiple reports of vandalism at the university on March 17. Upon investigation, officers discovered graffiti spread across several areas of the campus.
Initially, the graffiti was characterized as anti-government and racist. However, officials from the Grand Junction Police Department later clarified that the vandalism was not racially motivated.
The arrests come as part of the ongoing effort by law enforcement to address and prevent vandalism on campus. The university community is working to restore the affected areas and reinforce a positive environment.
Authorities encourage anyone with more information about the vandalism to come forward to assist in the investigation.
