Jury trail for man accused of killing two people at UCCS to go on as scheduled

The trial for Nicholas Jordan, who is accused of the fatal shooting of two individuals in a University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) dorm room, is set to proceed as planned. An El Paso County judge reaffirmed the trial date during a court hearing held on Friday.
Jordan faces charges for the deaths of UCCS student Samuel Knopp and Pueblo resident Celie Montgomery, which occurred last February. During the hearing, his defense team requested a delay, claiming that new evidence had emerged suggesting an alternative suspect. However, the judge denied this motion, allowing the trial to move forward.
The trial is scheduled to commence on April 7, emphasizing the seriousness of the case and the importance of a timely judicial process.
In a separate development, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) personnel have received permission to be transported using military tactical vehicles, as confirmed by a recent announcement from Peterson Space Force Base.
