Man indicted on rape, prostitution charges

A Mahoning County grand jury has indicted 16 individuals this week on various charges, including serious offenses such as rape and multiple drug-related crimes. Among those charged is Larry Burgess, 36, currently in jail, who faces a multitude of indictments. His charges include two counts of rape, six counts of compelling prostitution, and numerous counts of trafficking various drugs such as heroin, cocaine, and fentanyl-related compounds, in addition to other offenses.
Another notable indictment is that of Peter D. Levitski, 31, who faces charges including intimidation, domestic violence, and ethnic intimidation. Jonathan H. Alexander, 52, was indicted for operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs, while Jefferson Payne, 33, faces charges related to improperly handling firearms in a vehicle.
Several individuals were indicted for receiving stolen property, including Kevin Merchant and Marquez L. Duvall. Other offenders are facing serious charges: Kurtis D. Townsend, 25, was indicted for two counts of felonious assault, and Dwayne Bulls Jr., 26, for grand theft of a motor vehicle. In addition, Timothy R. Collage, 42, and Kyle V. Poyssick, 24, face aggravated drug possession charges along with other offenses.
The grand jury also indicted Jessica Garrett, 35, for multiple counts of receiving stolen property, and Dennis Artis, 60, for cocaine possession and related illegal activities. Finally, Alyssa D. Shaffer, 27, faces charges for tampering with evidence and identity fraud. This recent round of indictments highlights ongoing concerns about crime in the Mahoning County area.
