Lafayette Head Coach Charged With Sex Crimes Involving Juvenile Student

A former softball coach in Lafayette Parish has been arrested for engaging in indecent behavior with a juvenile. Ronald Naomi, previously the head coach at David Thibodaux STEM Academy, has been accused of having sexual relations with a student, as reported by KLFY.
The Lafayette Parish School System has confirmed that Naomi is no longer associated with the school. Although he worked as a contracted coach, he was not a formal employee of the school system. An official statement highlighted that the school has severed ties with Naomi following his arrest.
Naomi was taken into custody just before 1 a.m. on Friday, with his bond set at $40,000. This amount includes $15,000 for the charge of indecent behavior with juveniles and $25,000 for prohibited sexual conduct between an educator and a student.
