Hudson Falls man faces felony DWI charge after arrest in Queensbury

A Hudson man was arrested this week in Queensbury for driving while intoxicated. The incident occurred on March 26, just before 8:30 PM, when the Warren County Sheriff's Office stopped a vehicle on Bay Road for multiple traffic violations.
The driver, 45-year-old Rene Blanchette from Hudson Falls, was charged with Driving While Intoxicated. This offense is classified as a class E felony because it involves a previous DWI conviction and driving on a suspended license.
Following his arrest, Blanchette was taken to the Queensbury Station, where he refused to undergo an evidentiary breath test.
As a result of his refusal and prior offenses, he was held in police custody until his arraignment in the Centralized Arraignment Court.
The case highlights the ongoing issue of impaired driving and the legal consequences that can arise from repeat offending.
