LPSO: Man stole checks from mail, cashed them after erasing information

LIVINGSTON PARISH, La. (WAFB) - The Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office is investigating a mail theft case involving a suspect, Jonathan Wesley Robertson from Jackson, Mississippi, who is accused of stealing checks, erasing their details, and cashing them at banks.
The investigation began after authorities received several complaints about mail theft, which led them to discover that the stolen checks were being altered and cashed in person at banks located in Walker. Deputies report that the total amount stolen is approximately $18,000.
Robertson has been identified as the main suspect in this fraudulent activity, and law enforcement is actively searching for him. They believe he may still be in the Baton Rouge metro area.
