Person killed in shooting on Indianapolis east side

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) -- The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department reported a fatal shooting that occurred late Friday night. Officers responded to a call at approximately 11:40 p.m. regarding a shooting incident at 3000 North Webster Avenue.

Upon arrival, police discovered a man suffering from a gunshot wound inside a residence. He was promptly transported to the hospital in critical condition but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries there.

Authorities have not yet released the identity of the deceased man. The investigation is ongoing as detectives work to gather more information about the circumstances surrounding the incident.
