Elkhart County deputies responded to a crash at 6:04 p.m. on Wednesday in the 66000 block of C.R. 31, where the driver left the scene without providing information or notifying authorities. This incident highlights the ongoing issues with traffic violations in the area.

On Thursday at 3:22 p.m., a 21-year-old man was arrested by Elkhart County deputies for driving without a license and failing to present identification after being stopped for a traffic infraction near Elkhart Road and Midway Road. This arrest underscores the importance of adhering to traffic laws to ensure road safety.

Later that evening, deputies received alarming reports involving minors. At 4:16 p.m., they were informed of a case of sexual misconduct with a minor, followed by a report at 7:23 p.m. about an attempted inappropriate communication with a child. These reports indicate a pressing need for vigilance and protective measures for children in the community.

In a separate incident of criminal mischief, a 39-year-old woman reported that her vehicle was damaged at 3:02 p.m. on Thursday in the 500 block of Oatfield Lane. Additionally, thefts were reported throughout the day, including a bike stolen on Ponderosa Court and a cell phone taken from Shanklin Park. Such incidents reveal a concerning trend of theft within the area.

Fraud cases also appear to be on the rise, with multiple reports received by Goshen police and Elkhart County deputies.
