Newark City Council Member Detained Following Late-Night Collision - Internewscast Journal

Newark, DE -- On March 28, shortly before midnight, the Newark Police Department responded to a vehicle accident on Madison Drive, where a moving vehicle had collided with four parked cars. Fortunately, the parked vehicles were unattended at the time of the incident.
The driver was identified as 54-year-old Dwendolyn Creecy, a Newark City Council member representing District 4. She was present at the scene when officers arrived and was subsequently investigated for her level of impairment.
Police determined that Creecy was under the influence during the crash, leading to her arrest. Her vehicle was rendered inoperable and had to be towed from the accident site for safety reasons.
Creecy faces several charges, including Driving Under the Influence, Failure to Have Insurance Identification in Possession, and Failure to Remain Within a Single Lane. She was issued the necessary documentation for court proceedings and allowed to return home after her processing at the police headquarters.
Fortunately, there were no injuries reported as a result of the accident. The Newark Police Department has not provided further details related to the ongoing investigation.
