Poughkeepsie man arrested for selling cocaine and fentanyl following yearlong drug probe

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY -- A yearlong investigation culminated in the arrest of 41-year-old Luke M. Grady at his residence in High View Estates on Wednesday. Authorities from the Dutchess County Drug Task Force and the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office Emergency Service Unit executed a search warrant, linking Grady to the sale of cocaine and fentanyl, leading to his charge of criminal sale of a controlled substance in the third degree, a Class B felony.
The investigation was prompted by numerous resident complaints regarding drug activity in the High View Estates neighborhood. Throughout the year, agents conducted controlled purchases of narcotics from Grady, solidifying their case against him.
During the search of his home, law enforcement recovered a sawed-off pistol grip shotgun, which may lead to additional charges regarding both the weapon and drug-related offenses that will be presented to a grand jury.
After the arrest, Grady was processed and held by the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office before being arraigned and released in compliance with New York State law.
Officials emphasized the importance of community involvement and collaboration among law enforcement agencies in bringing Grady to justice, highlighting these efforts as crucial in addressing drug-related issues in the area.
