AURORA, Colo. -- Police are working to apprehend a barricaded suspect in Aurora who escaped from a traffic stop and subsequent crash early Saturday morning. The incident began with an attempted traffic stop by Arapahoe County deputies on S. Parker Road when the suspect fled, prompting a police pursuit.

The situation escalated when the suspect crashed into another vehicle at the intersection of S. Parker Road and S. Dayton Street before fleeing on foot. Authorities later reported that the man broke into a nearby condo complex, prompting a shelter-in-place order for residents of the Rain Tree Condos.

As part of the chaos, a woman was detained at the crash scene, though her connection to the suspect remains unclear. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported in connection with the incidents.

Police are currently engaged in negotiations with the barricaded man to resolve the situation peacefully. The area remains tense as law enforcement works to ensure the safety of the public and apprehend the suspect.
