Infant's remains discovered at West Virginia cemetery, authorities seek information

CABELL COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) - An investigation is underway by the Cabell County Sheriff's Office after the remains of an infant were discovered along with a damaged casket at Baylous Cemetery on Thursday night. Deputies received a report about the disturbing incident around 7:20 p.m. and rushed to the scene.
Upon arrival, the authorities found a casket displaced over an embankment and, approximately 30 yards away, the remains of an infant male. The shocking discovery raises questions about the circumstances surrounding the situation.
During the preliminary investigation, deputies did not observe any disturbed gravesites within the cemetery, suggesting that the infant's remains may have been moved or improperly placed at the location.
Sheriff Doug Adams has emphasized the importance of determining the identity of the infant and uncovering the details of how the remains came to be at the cemetery. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are seeking any information that could shed light on the case.
