STAFFORD, VA -- A juvenile, allegedly under the influence, crashed into a vehicle while trying to order food at a McDonald's drive-thru late Tuesday night, according to authorities. The incident unfolded around 11:02 p.m. on March 26, when a concerned caller reported a suspected drunk driver on Richmond Highway near Garrisonville Road, describing the operator as appearing half-asleep and reversing erratically at an intersection.

Deputy D.A. Robertson responded to the scene and located the suspect vehicle in the drive-thru line of McDonald's at 303 Town Center Boulevard. As the deputy approached, the juvenile collided with the car in front. Upon investigation, signs of intoxication were evident, leading to the teen’s detention.

A search revealed various marijuana products and a realistic Glock-style BB gun in the juvenile's possession. Consequently, he faced multiple charges, including driving under the influence, driving without a license, underage possession of marijuana, and underage alcohol consumption.

Despite the charges, Juvenile Intake opted not to detain the teen, resulting in his release to his parents. The late-night fast food craving led to significant legal ramifications for the young driver, marking a serious incident in Stafford.

This event highlights the dangers of reckless driving and the potential consequences of combining substance use with vehicle operation, particularly among minors.
