Woman with active warrants arrested for drug distribution, police say

SALT LAKE CITY -- A woman with multiple active warrants was arrested for drug distribution on Thursday night, as reported by the Salt Lake City Police Department. The incident took place near 800 W. North Temple, an area known for its high crime and drug trafficking activity.
During surveillance, officers observed 26-year-old Daphne Cailin McPeak engaging with several individuals. They noted suspicious interactions where money was placed on the ground, and an unknown item was collected from behind McPeak, which led police to suspect a drug transaction.
Police intervened before McPeak could leave the vicinity and conducted a search. The search yielded cocaine, fentanyl tablets, marijuana, and a significant amount of cash, corroborating their suspicions of drug-related activity.
In addition to the drug charges, it was revealed that McPeak had multiple active warrants, including felonies related to child endangerment. This added to the severity of her situation during the arrest.
As a result, McPeak was charged with three counts of distribution of a controlled substance, highlighting the ongoing issues of drug trafficking in the area.
