Authorities in Alameda County have arrested a man and recovered significant quantities of stolen Lego sets following a burglary at a comic book store in Castro Valley last week. The incident occurred around 3 a.m. on March 22, when deputies responded to a call from Crush Comics on Castro Valley Boulevard. Surveillance footage captured two suspects as they entered the store and pilfered merchandise.

In a Facebook post, the comic book store expressed disappointment over the theft, particularly as the burglars managed to snatch several sought-after Wall Books. They encouraged the community to help identify the suspects, humorously thanking the thieves for the "steal" if anyone recognized them.

The Eden Township Substation's property crime unit worked swiftly to identify one of the suspects, leading to an arrest warrant for 29-year-old Noorullah Amiri from Livermore. He was apprehended with the help of the Gang Suppression Unit and the Street Crimes Unit.

During a subsequent search of Amiri's residence, deputies uncovered a large cache of stolen items, including nearly 200 boxes of Lego sets, comic books, and action figures. Notably, a victim from another Bay Area city reported a separate burglary where $10,000 worth of Lego sets had been stolen, most of which was recovered from Amiri.

The Alameda County sheriff's office lauded the diligent efforts of the property crime unit for their successful investigation and arrest. They emphasized the commitment and dedication shown by the team in apprehending one of the suspects, although details about the second suspect remain undisclosed.
