SAN ANTONIO - A man named Isaac Rivas, 26, has been arrested following a shooting incident outside a Southeast Side bar that left his ex-girlfriend hospitalized. He is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and was booked into the Bexar County Adult Detention Center on Friday, as per court records.

The shooting occurred around 11:20 p.m. on a Wednesday night in the 1800 block of Rigsby Avenue. According to the arrest affidavit, Rivas and the woman had a previous romantic relationship and had recently been spending time together as friends, meeting once a week.

On the night of the shooting, they had gone out to eat. As they were leaving the restaurant, the woman indicated that they were supposed to part ways. This prompted Rivas to become angry, insisting that he wanted to go wherever she was headed. The situation escalated, with Rivas threatening her, which caused the woman to fear for her safety.

In a distressed attempt to escape, the woman pulled into a parking lot and went inside the bar to retrieve her pepper spray. However, she encountered difficulties with it, and Rivas soon found her, demanding she get back in the vehicle. As she attempted to grab her pepper spray again, the situation further escalated, leading her to run away from him.

The woman then heard gunshots and realized she had been shot four times. After the incident, she reached out to Rivas' mother for help, describing his erratic behavior. Witnesses reported that Rivas fled the scene in a vehicle, but he was later picked up by his mother approximately 800 feet from the shooting location.
