Man accused of killing former Nevada state senator's son asked woman if she 'wanted to die' day before shooting at North Las Vegas casino: police
A 19-year-old man named Aerion Warmsley has been charged with open murder and robbery in connection to the shooting death of Na'onche Osborne, the son of former Nevada state senator Pat Spearman, at the Aliante Casino and Hotel in North Las Vegas. The incident unfolded on March 27, following a series of disturbing events, including a threatening text Warmsley allegedly sent to a woman the day before, asking if she wanted to die.
On March 26, police responded to a domestic disturbance involving Warmsley, whose vehicle was located in front of the woman's apartment. However, as officers attempted to engage him, Warmsley fled the scene in a vehicle with distinctive markings. This encounter was reported to detectives for further investigation.
The following morning, casino security alerted North Las Vegas police about a shooting on the casino floor. Upon arriving, officers discovered Osborne had been shot and was pronounced dead at the scene. Preliminary reports indicated that Warmsley and an accomplice had left the area in a vehicle that matched the description of the one he had driven the previous day.
After the shooting, the Mercedes sedan was involved in a crash before Warmsley reportedly carjacked a woman's SUV at gunpoint. This initiated a series of dangerous high-speed pursuits across multiple jurisdictions, culminating in his apprehension by police with air unit assistance near Boulder Highway and Sahara Avenue.
The tragic loss of Osborne has left a profound impact on his family and community, as expressed by a spokesperson for Senator Spearman. The senator, who had previously faced challenges not only in her political career but also with her son's past legal troubles, is now navigating this unimaginable grief, requesting privacy as they mourn the loss of a loved one.
