North Bay Cybertruck owner offers $25,000 reward for information after vehicle vandalized

Police in Novato, California, are investigating a targeted act of vandalism against a Tesla Cybertruck that occurred early Friday morning, marking the second attack on a Tesla in the city within a week. The incident was captured on the home surveillance cameras of Jason Bedell, who discovered significant damage to his vehicle, including slashed tires and a shattered windshield.
Footage reveals a suspect surveying the area around 4:30 a.m. before disabling a security camera and then proceeding to vandalize the Cybertruck. Bedell expressed his shock at the incident, describing his neighborhood as typically peaceful where residents usually feel secure enough to leave their cars unlocked at night. He suspects that someone may have followed him home or that a neighbor might be involved.
In addition to the physical damage, the vandal left behind a sticker noting that all four tires would need replacement. Bedell speculated that the motive behind the crime might be politically or emotionally driven, suggesting that the vandal might be acting out against figures like Elon Musk or the government, misdirecting their frustration towards innocent neighbors.
To aid in the investigation, Bedell is offering a $25,000 cash reward for any information leading to the suspect's arrest. The Novato Police Department is actively seeking assistance from the community, asking residents in nearby neighborhoods to check their surveillance footage for any unusual activity that occurred between 4 a.m. and 6 a.m. on the day of the incident.
Authorities have confirmed another vandalism incident involving a Tesla the previous Saturday but have not determined if the two cases are connected. The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with relevant information is encouraged to contact the Novato Police.
