Arlington County Police are investigating a series of fights that broke out at the Pentagon City Mall on Saturday evening, leading to an early closure. The disturbances reportedly began in the food court and involved several teenagers, resulting in multiple detentions by law enforcement.

Police were called to the scene shortly after 7 p.m. to manage the situation, which quickly escalated. Witnesses and video evidence suggest that numerous fights took place simultaneously, with some individuals allegedly overpowering a mall security guard who attempted to intervene.

According to reports, both a police officer and a security guard sustained minor injuries during the incidents, and one of the three detained juveniles also suffered minor injuries. Eyewitness accounts describe a chaotic scene as the fights intensified.

Marcus Best, a mall employee, recalled seeing a series of altercations unfold. He noted that two young women were engaged in a fight, which then escalated to officers being physically attacked as they tried to separate the combatants, leading to a broader mêlée among the crowd.

As of now, police have not announced any charges related to the incidents, and the investigation is ongoing.
