Warrant Issued For Suspect In Citrus County Fairgrounds Shooting Incident

The Citrus County Sheriff's Office (CCSO) has issued a warrant for the arrest of 23-year-old Derrius Deon Orr, following a firearm-related incident near the Citrus County Fairgrounds on March 28th. Detectives from the CCSO's Criminal Investigations Division worked diligently to identify Orr as a suspect, securing the warrant in under 24 hours despite limited initial information.
The warrant stems from an incident in which Orr allegedly discharged a handgun multiple times along Airport Road in Inverness, close to the fair's parking lot. Fortunately, the event resulted in no reported injuries or property damage. Sheriff Vincent praised the efforts of the detectives in their swift investigation, highlighting Orr's troubled past with firearms.
Orr faces charges including discharging a firearm in public and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Investigation findings indicate he may be hiding out in the Citrus Hills area with an unidentified female companion. Authorities are advising the public against approaching Orr and to report any sightings immediately.
Citizens are encouraged to assist in the search by sharing any information regarding Orr's whereabouts. They can contact the CCSO directly at 352-249-2790 or provide tips anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1-888-ANY-TIPS (269-8477).
The CCSO's proactive approach emphasizes community safety and the importance of collaboration between law enforcement and the public to resolve such incidents effectively.
