An Arlington man has been arrested for murder and aggravated assault following a shooting incident early Saturday morning that left an 18-year-old dead. Police were called to an apartment complex in the 800 block of W. Mitchell Street just before 7 a.m., where they found the victim unresponsive with a gunshot wound. He was transported to a hospital but later succumbed to his injuries.

The victim, identified as Teagan Meza, had reportedly entered the apartment and engaged in an argument with three individuals inside, during which he allegedly brandished a handgun. As the confrontation escalated, he is accused of pistol-whipping one of the women present and firing a shot that struck the man inside the apartment.

After the shooting, Meza fled the scene and went to a relative's home, where he was apprehended without resistance. Prior to the incident, he had encountered his ex-girlfriend outside the apartment and allegedly discharged a firearm into the air while pointing it at her. Notably, she was one of the women inside the apartment at the time of the shooting.

Meza has been booked into the Arlington City Jail, facing one count of murder and two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. As of now, a bond has not been set.

The investigation remains ongoing, and the Tarrant County Medical Examiner's Office is expected to release the identity of the deceased victim.
