An Oswego man, Jose Coronado, aged 45, was arrested in Halfmoon for multiple charges related to driving while intoxicated (DWI). The arrest took place around 1:30 am when the Saratoga County Sheriff's Office pulled him over for failing to maintain his lane on U.S. Route 9.

Upon further investigation, it was revealed that Coronado was operating a vehicle while intoxicated despite having his driver's license revoked due to a previous DWI conviction. Since this prior conviction occurred within the last 10 years, the current DWI charge was elevated to a felony.

In addition to the felony DWI charge, Coronado allegedly refused to provide fingerprints during the arrest and was found to be operating the vehicle without a court-ordered ignition interlock device, which is typically mandated in cases of repeat offenses.

Following the arrest, he was arraigned in Halfmoon Town Court, where the various charges against him were presented. The law enforcement agency emphasized the seriousness of driving under the influence, especially for repeat offenders.

The case highlights ongoing efforts to combat impaired driving in the region, with authorities remaining vigilant in enforcing the law against those who repeatedly disregard traffic safety regulations.
