Teenager, 14, shot during attempted car break-in, according to San Antonio police - Internewscast Journal

SAN ANTONIO - A 14-year-old boy was shot while allegedly trying to break into a vehicle early Sunday morning, according to police reports. Officers responded to a criminal mischief call just before 1 a.m. in the 600 block of Saldana Street, where they were also alerted to a nearby shooting incident.
Upon arrival, police discovered that the juvenile, along with two other minors, had attempted to break into a man’s vehicle. The vehicle owner, noticing the attempted burglary, came out of his home and discharged his firearm, hitting the 14-year-old in the lower body.
Following the shooting, all three juveniles fled the scene. Shortly afterward, the injured teen contacted the police and was taken to a hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.
As of Sunday morning, no arrests had been made, and the investigation into the incident was still underway. Additional details regarding the circumstances of the shooting were not immediately available.
