3 people stabbed during argument in Belmont Central, Chicago police say

Three people were stabbed during a confrontation on Chicago's Northwest Side early Sunday morning, according to authorities. The incident occurred just after 5 a.m. in the Belmont Central neighborhood, specifically on the 5700 block of West Grand Avenue.

Police reported that the altercation involved two groups, and a 40-year-old man brandished a sharp object during the dispute. This led to multiple victims sustaining injuries. Among the injured was a 20-year-old woman, who received a puncture wound to her arm.

Another victim, a 30-year-old woman, also suffered a puncture wound in the same area and was taken to West Suburban Hospital. Both women were reported to be in good condition following their treatment. Additionally, a 32-year-old man experienced lacerations to his hands and was transported to Loyola Hospital, where he too was reported to be in good condition.

The suspect has been taken into custody, and authorities are currently investigating the incident. Charges against the suspect are pending as detectives from Area Five continue their inquiry into the matter.
