SEATTLE -- A double homicide investigation is underway after two individuals were shot and killed in a nightclub parking lot in Seattle's Rainier Beach neighborhood early Sunday morning. Police were called to the scene in the 9200 block of Rainier Ave. S around 3:30 a.m. following reports of gunfire.

Upon arrival, officers found a security guard with multiple gunshot wounds. While attending to the injured guard, they also discovered another victim who had been shot in the head. The Seattle Fire Department pronounced this young man dead at the scene.

The security guard was rushed to Harborview Medical Center in critical condition but later succumbed to his injuries, as confirmed by hospital staff. The incident prompted a significant police response, with officers cordoning off the area for further investigation.

Detectives from the Video, Homicide, and Crime Scene Investigation Units are currently processing the scene, while the suspects involved in the shooting fled prior to police arrival. The circumstances surrounding the shooting are still being explored.
