Early Sunday morning, two individuals were shot and killed in the parking lot of a nightclub in Seattle's Rainier Beach neighborhood, prompting a double homicide investigation. The shooting occurred around 3:30 a.m. on Rainier Ave. S, leading Seattle Police to respond to reports of gunfire.

Upon arrival, officers encountered a security guard who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. During their efforts to provide medical assistance, they discovered another victim nearby, a young man who had been shot in the head. Tragically, the fire department pronounced him dead at the scene shortly after.

The security guard was transported to Harborview Medical Center in critical condition but later succumbed to his injuries. This incident has left the community in shock and mourning as law enforcement works to uncover the details surrounding the shooting.

Police have cordoned off the area and have deployed detectives from the Homicide, Video, and Crime Scene Investigation Units to gather evidence and analyze the situation. However, the suspect or suspects involved fled the scene before authorities arrived, complicating the investigation.

Detectives are actively pursuing leads and urge anyone with pertinent information about the shooting to contact 911 or the Violent Crimes Tip Line at (206) 233-5000.
