Cohoes man accused of striking traffic flagger

A Cohoes man, William Stanley, 43, has been arrested in Halfmoon for allegedly assaulting a traffic flagger, as reported by the Saratoga County Sheriff's Office. The incident occurred around 1:21 p.m. on March 26 when officers were called to respond to an assault on Crescent Vischer Ferry Road.
Upon investigation, deputies learned that the flagger had instructed Stanley to stop his vehicle, a request he reportedly ignored. This non-compliance endangered the safety of the flagger and others in the vicinity.
According to officials, during the altercation, Stanley struck the traffic controller on the shoulder. Additionally, he was found to be operating his vehicle without a valid driver's license.
Stanley now faces multiple charges stemming from this incident. He has been released on appearance tickets and is awaiting further proceedings in Halfmoon Town Court, according to the Sheriff's Office.
