Two individuals were fatally shot in a nightclub parking lot in Seattle's Rainier Beach neighborhood early Sunday morning, prompting a double homicide investigation by the Seattle Police Department. Officers responded to reports of gunfire around 3:30 a.m. in the 9200 block of Rainier Ave. S.

Upon arrival, police found a security guard suffering from multiple gunshot wounds and, while administering medical help, located another victim who had been shot in the head. The second victim, a young man, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Seattle Fire Department.

The injured security guard was transported to Harborview Medical Center in critical condition but later succumbed to his injuries. The investigation team has cordoned off the area, and detectives from various units, including Homicide and Crime Scene Investigation, are currently processing evidence and gathering information.

The shooter or shooters fled the scene before police arrived, leaving authorities searching for details surrounding the events leading to the shooting. The Homicide Unit is actively working on the case.

Officials are urging anyone with potential information related to the incident to contact 911 or the Violent Crimes Tip Line at (206) 233-5000.
