Two shot to death in Seattle nightclub parking lot, suspect on the run

SEATTLE -- A double homicide investigation is underway following a shooting at a nightclub parking lot in Seattle's Rainier Beach neighborhood early Sunday morning. The Seattle Police Department responded to reports of gunfire in the 9200 block of Rainier Ave. S around 3:30 a.m.
Upon arrival, officers discovered a security guard with multiple gunshot wounds and, while tending to him, found another victim who had been shot in the head. The Seattle Fire Department pronounced the second victim, a young man, dead at the scene.
The injured security guard was transported to Harborview Medical Center but later succumbed to his injuries, bringing the toll to two fatalities. The police have cordoned off the area as detectives from the Video, Homicide, and Crime Scene Investigation Units gather evidence.
The suspect or suspects involved fled the scene prior to the police's arrival, and the circumstances leading to the shooting are still being investigated. Detectives from the Homicide Unit are actively working the case.
