1 killed, 1 hurt after fight at NW Houston taco truck spills over to apartment complex, HPD says

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- A violent altercation near a taco truck in northwest Houston resulted in one death and one injury early Sunday morning, according to the Houston Police Department. The confrontation, which occurred around 1 a.m., involved two groups in the truck's parking lot.
While the cause of the fight is still unclear, it escalated quickly, leading to property damage, including a man's truck window being shattered. After the initial confrontation, both groups left the scene but reconvened at an apartment complex on Kempwood, where tensions flared up again.
As the situation escalated, another fight broke out, which concluded with gunfire. Tragically, one man was struck and succumbed to his injuries. Friends of the victim made efforts to get him help by placing him in a car and flagging down the fire department, who was on-site.
In addition to the fatality, another individual sustained blunt head trauma but is expected to recover. Thankfully, the Houston Police Department reported that all individuals involved in the incident are accounted for, and no suspects remain at large.
