2 hospitalized following shooting outside Fresno nightclub, police say

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Two men were hospitalized early Sunday morning following a shooting outside Switch Nightclub in northwest Fresno. The incident occurred around midnight as officers conducted a traffic stop in the nightclub's parking lot and heard a fight escalating into gunfire.
Witnesses reported that the suspect fled toward a McDonald's across the street, where officers discovered a man suffering from a gunshot wound to his lower body. Investigators revealed that this man had discarded a firearm, which was later recovered by the police.
Approximately 30 minutes later, another man arrived at Community Regional Medical Center with a gunshot wound to his upper body. Both individuals are currently receiving treatment for their injuries.
Authorities also discovered that an armed guard at the nightclub discharged their weapon during the incident, though it remains unclear if any individuals were struck by those shots.
