Man shot after confronting men riding motorcycles on his property

An Augusta man was shot twice in his driveway on Friday, prompting a response from the Richmond County Sheriff's Office to a report of aggravated assault on Corinth Drive. The victim, identified as Thomas Quattlebaum, suffered gunshot wounds to both thighs.
Quattlebaum explained to deputies that the incident occurred after three men were damaging his driveway while riding motorcycles and a four-wheeler. When he confronted them about their actions, one of the men shot him.
Upon investigation, deputies discovered bullet casings at the end of Quattlebaum's driveway, along with bullet holes in the bumper of his truck. These findings supported Quattlebaum's account of the events that transpired.
Chandler Roberts was arrested in connection with the shooting and was brought in for questioning. Deputies obtained a handgun from him, which was taken as evidence in the ongoing investigation.
Following the incident, Quattlebaum was transported to the hospital for treatment of his injuries, as authorities continued to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
