A 28-year-old man, Dallas Scott Weed, has been charged with DUI manslaughter following a tragic incident in Titusville, where he struck and killed a pedestrian. The accident occurred on Friday afternoon around 2:50 p.m. as Weed was driving a Dodge work truck westbound on Columbia Boulevard.

The victim, who was returning to work at the nearby Walmart Supercenter, was hit by Weed's vehicle. Although he was promptly taken to a local hospital, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at 4 p.m., according to police reports.

Upon their arrival at the crash site, officers found Weed and noted that he exhibited signs of intoxication. He was subsequently arrested and booked into the Brevard County Jail Complex.

Weed is currently being held on a $15,000 bail. The investigation is ongoing as authorities continue to piece together the events leading up to the collision.
