A Seminole County man, Tyler Anderson, has been charged with multiple felonies for allegedly defrauding churches, small businesses, and funeral homes to support his lavish lifestyle. The Attorney General's office announced these charges Thursday, revealing that Anderson misled unsuspecting investors out of more than $300,000.

For a span of 18 months, Anderson is said to have solicited advance loans for building projects that were never realized. His victims included four churches, three small businesses, and a funeral home, all of whom believed they were investing in legitimate financing opportunities.

Attorney General James Uthmeier emphasized the impact of such fraudulent activities, stating that they undermine community trust. He noted that Anderson not only deceived his victims but portrayed himself as a successful loan broker through social media and a now-defunct company website.

According to investigators, Anderson promised loans for commercial properties and construction projects but ultimately failed to deliver any funding. Victims reportedly paid him over $300,000, believing they would secure financing for various endeavors.

As a result of these actions, Anderson faces serious legal consequences, including felony counts for defrauding over $50,000, grand theft exceeding $100,000, and engaging in fraudulent mortgage and lending practices.
